Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a specific form of very light rhythmical massage that stimulates the lymphatic system. This can improve transport of nutrients to cells, eliminate metabolic waste, and improve circulation of the white blood cells contained within the lymph fluid.
A series of treatments is recommended for maximum effect, along with positive changes in diet, lifestyle, and daily intake of water to prevent dehydration and reduction in lymph mobility.
MLD is beneficial for individuals who have any of the following symptoms:
- Low energy
- Tense facial muscles
- Unhealthy skin
- Frequent colds
- Persistent sinusitis and catarrh
- Visible cellulite
- Fluid retention e.g. puffy ankles, legs, under eyes, and bloating
